A monologue about Helen of Troy, commissioned for the Mérida Festival 2011, in which the protagonist decides to tell her story in her own words. The piece won the VI Valle-Inclán Theatre Prize for Acting.
Helen of Troy is probably one of the most reviled women in history. She is weighed down by the burden of having started the ancient world's most famous war. The powerful city of Troy was besieged by the Greeks for ten years. An army the like of which no one had ever seen was mobilized to force the arrogant Trojans to return the queen of Sparta to her rightful master. She had become Helen of Troy since she decided to leave her kingdom, her husband and her daughter and follow Paris, the son of Priam, king of Troy. But as she says herself: Does anyone with any common sense really think that they went to all that trouble because of me?
