Conferència espectacular [Performance Talk] is a special "masterclass" about the interdisciplinary performing arts that combines the spoken word with handling of objects, choreographic action and shadow theatre. An audiovisual tour of the history of unconventional theatre in Catalonia and the rest of Europe through the experiences of the performance artist David Espinosa.
It is an educational show that tells you about new forms of theatre and what drove the emergence of the most innovative theatre formats, from the arrival of electricity in theatres to the digital era, from Adolphe Appia and Adrià Gual to Carles Santos and Fura dels Baus, through the artists that have made their mark on our history in one way or another: Pina Bausch, Tadeusz Kantor, Joan Brossa, Rodrigo García, Els Joglars, Wim Vandekeybus, Mal Pelo, La Zaranda, Peter Brook, Needcompany, General Elèctrica and Odin Teatret, to mention just a few.
This performance talk, in which we will seek to explain that inexplicable thing we do by comparing our insignificant work (represented by objects, models and shadows) with that of the most acclaimed artists, is our way of paying homage to them and thanking them for their influence.
